Intel 8080 is an 8-bit MOS device which is packaged in a 40-pin DIP. It is based on the older 8008 architecture ,but it is capable of much more sophisticated applications. The architecture of the 8080, like the 8008, is anized around an 8-bit internal data bus. Compared to the 8008, the 8080 has the following additional capabilities:
(1) Decimal arithmetic
(2) External stacking
(3) Direct memory access
(4) Increased instructions and addressing modes.
