Should Children Be Motivated With Cash?
At present, some parents are using money to encourage their children to study. Their parents hand out at least three-digit cash awards if their children get good marks on their examinations.
As for me, this may have some bad efforts on children. First of all, when being awarded with money, students might e money-minded. They may take it for granted that good marks and cash are the same thing. They work hard only for money instead of studying to acquire knowledge. Second, there may be petition among those students: who has got larger amount of money instead of who has learned more. Last but not the least, being motivated with money some students may use various means to cheat so as to get higher scores. This may hurt themselves as well as their parents.
In order to get rid of the bad effects, it’ll be more helpful if parents could consult educational experts to apply other positive ways to encourage their children in studying.
