Telephone calls
Talking on the telephone in a foreign country reveals some interesting cultural differences. Of course, making or receiving a telephone call in a second or other language can be difficult, merely because of the language itself. It is a very intensive way munication, especially since there is no opportunity to observe body language. But it can plicated by a host of different cultural requirements.
There are some cultural aspects of greetings, apologies, asking a person to wait, leaving and taking messages, as well as ending a conversation. All these show that there are variations in what to do when telephoning.
