Taylor Alison Swift is an American country music singer-songwriter. She was born on December 13, 1989. She started singing, playing a guitar, and songwriting at a very young age. Taylor started off showing her talents at fairs and wherever she would get the parents moved from her home in Pennsylvania to Tennessee so she could pursue her career. There Swift was able to sign her first record deal with a new record label before the age of sixteen.

After that it didn't take long before everyone was hearing her music.  Her music sounds both county and pop, winning her countless diversified awards. Taylor Swift became the first country singer ever to have two singles reach number one on the pop chart.  "Fearless", Taylor Swift's second album, has spent more weeks at number one on Billboard's Top 200 chart than any other album this decade. Not only does Taylor Swift sing the songs on her album, she also has written or co-written every song on the album. If that isn't enough accomplished at such a young age, she also is the youngest singer ever to win a Country Music Award for Entertainer of the Year.  She is known around the world by her music; her fans can't get enough of Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift was born and raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania as the first child and only daughter of Andrea, a homemaker, and Scott Swift, a stockbroker. She has a younger brother, Austin. Taylor was raised as a Baptist. When she was in fourth grade, Swift won a national poetry contest with a three-page poem entitled "Monster In My Closet".
At the age of 10, Taylor began writing songs and singing them at karaoke contests, festivals, and fairs around her hometown. When she was 12 years old, she devoted an entire summer to writing a 350-page novel, which remains unpublished. Her first major show was a well-received performance at the Bloomsburg Fair.
