摘要
高分子，即高分子化合物，是由千百万个原子彼此以共价链接起来的大分子，因此又称为高聚物或聚合物。髙分子的特点是分子量大，高达104～106，并且分子量具有多分散性，其相对分子质量一般都在几万到几百万。通常把相对分子质量在一万以上的分子称为高子。
高分子是用相对分子质量、聚合度（重复的结构单元数）或分子链的长度来描述的。高分子材料的性能不仅与聚合物的化学性质有关，而且还与诸如结晶的程度和分布，高分子链长的分布，添加剂（如填料，增强剂和增塑剂等）的性质和用量等许多因素有关。
