Abstract：The design on 295/60R22. 5 BY707 wide base low profile truck and bus radial tire was
described. By referring to the relevant tire data，the structural design parameters were determined as
follows：overall diameter 920 mm，cross-sectional width 292 mm，width of running surface 245
mm，arc height of running surface 7 mm，bead diameter at rim seat 569. 5 mm，bead width at rim seat
241. 3 mm，maximum width position of cross-section（H1/H2 ） 1. 026，longitudinal groove pattern
with varying pitch design，pattern depth 15. 5 mm，number of pattern pitches 67，and block/total ratio
81%. In the construction design，the following processes were taken：fully layered design for tread，
3×0. 24/9×0. 225CCHT steel cord for carcass，4＋6×0. 30HT steel cord for 1#，2# and 3# belts，5×0. 35HI
high elongation steel cord for 4# belt，and using one stage three drum building machine to build tires and
dual-mode vulcanizing machine to cure tires with nitrogen vulcanization process. It
