论文提要
在十九世纪末至二十世纪上半叶的文学研究中过去我们常常有把一个完整
的文学现象人为的割裂开放到不同的领域里去研究的情况一八九二年至一
九四九年的海上小说就是一个明显的例子上海虽经历了租界孤岛国民党
统治几个不同的历史时期但其文学始终是在海上洋场的文化背景下持续地
未曾间断地发展着的上海文学构成了一段首尾完整脉络贯通独立自足的文
学历程我们却把它拆散分别放在近代文学现代文学新文学旧文学中
使本来完整的文学现象零碎不堪无法完整准确地把握其发展规律本论文的
目的之一就是要打破这些壁垒一以贯之还其历史原貌这是本论文的支点之
一
十九世纪末至二十世纪上半叶的中国文学资料同中国古代文学不同它绝
大部分散布在各种报刊杂志上看起来丰富实为散乱要把这些零碎整理成系
统的有条理的可用的材料是要费一番气力的本论文所涉及的多是建国前
的旧报刊许多报刊无人翻动过落满灰尘从此中所搜集来的大量资料是本
论文的第二个支点
过去的上海是中国的经济中心金融中心而从文学的角度来认识她更是
全国的娱乐中心消费中心上海小说的绝大部分是写这一内容的因而本文所
论多不离长三么二台基书场倌人咸肉舞女交际花这是此文的侧
重点
全文分上下编共六章上编分析海上洋场社会的消费娱乐业风俗习尚
生活理念下编描述一九九二年至一九四九年海上小说发展脉络分析作家生存
环境勾勒作家生平登录作品研究海派俗语论述海派小说艺术

THE STUDY ON THE SHANGHAI` NOVELS FROM THE
END OF EENTH CENTUY TO TWENTIETH
CENTURY

In the study on the literature from the end of ninteenth century to the
early half of twentieth century, We are always splitting whole
phenomenon and put them in separate learning fields. For example the
Shanghai novels ,though Shanghai experienced the period of concession
Gudao and Guomindang, the Shanghai literature developed all the time
and never stopped. In other words ,the Shanghai literature is a whole
integrated literatural history. But what we have done is to split it and
study in such realms as modern literature Xiandai literature new
literature and old literature. Under the circumstances we can not find the
developing law of literature because we had ruined the whole historic
reality. One of the purpose of this dissertation is to change the present
state and integrate all the parts into a real and whole study of Shanghai
novels .
