音节有七种构成形式
一、开音节
以元音字母结尾的音节，如：
hi he
relation， celebrate complete, secret
二、相对开音节
以辅音字母和一个不发音的 —e 结尾的音节，如：
name scene kite coke cute
三、闭音节
以辅音字母结尾的音节，如：
map bag dull
companion victory rubber umbrella
四、元音字母组合
如:wait play bee beat believe field show sow shout suit
五、-r音节
如：her， bar 等.
六、—re音节
如：fire， hare 等。
七、成音节辅音
l, m, n 的前面假设由一个其它的辅音音素，这个辅音音素可以同
l， m, n 构成音节。这时 l， m, n 叫作成音节辅音。
如:
bottle, bottom, button 等。
补充说明：在国外的语音书籍里，像bottle属于成音节辅音；而像bottom, button等不属于成音节辅音，因为它们的第二个音节里含有元音音素。
怎样划分音节
一、开音节从元音字母的后面分开
如：
radar ra • dar
baker ba • ker
二、闭音节从两个辅音字母中间分开
如:
button but • ton
picnic pic • nic
三、复合词从两个词的中间分开
如:
hometown home • town
homework home
• work
football foot • ball
四、混合情况举例说明
newspaper     news • pa • per
policeman     po • lice • man
policewoman   po • lice • wo • man

双音节单词的音节划分方法可归纳为“两分手。一归前或一归后”.
1.“两分手"是指：当两个元音之间有两个辅音字母时，将两个辅音字母划分
在前后两个音节里。详细细节和读音特点,分别介绍如下：
1a。 当两个辅音字母一样（包括字母 r ）,且重读音节在词首时：
