The desks and chairs will be supplied in two sizes: 
1. Size 1 for lower primary standards 1‐4 
2. Size 2 for upper primary standards 5‐7 
 
The furniture should fortable, strong, durable and light enough that children can move 
them easily. 
 
The  manufacturer  shall  certify  to  the  client  that  all  materials  used  in  the  manufacture  of  the 
desks and chairs are new and of the required quality. 
 
All part likely to be in contact with the users shall be manufactured in such a way as to prevent 
injury to users or damage to clothes or floors. Corners, edges and any projecting parts must be 
rounded and all surfaces must have a smooth finish. The ends of any steel tubes, bars or legs shall 
be ground off smooth and appropriately protected. 
 
The dimensions of desks and chairs ply with the dimensions set out in the tables. 
 
The manufacturer or supplier shall make good or replace free of charge any items of furniture in 
which any defects appear within 12 months of the date of delivery to any school provided that 
the furniture has only been subjected to fair wear and tear. 
 
Each  article  of  furniture  shall  be  indelibly  marked  with  the  name  or  trademark  of  the 
manufacturer to enable the various sizes of chairs and desks to be easily recognized.
