1、什么是期货
期货是指期货合约，由期货交易所统一制定的、规定在将来某一特定的时间和地点交割一定数量标的物的标准化合约。这个标的物可以是某种商品，如铜或原油，也可以是某种金融资产，如外汇、债券，还可以是某个金融指标，如三个月同业拆借利率或股票指数。
2、期货的常用概念
做多：相信价格会涨并买入期货合约，也称“买空”或“多头”。
做空：和“做多”是反的，看跌价格并卖出期货合约，也称“卖空”或“空头”。
头寸：买入期货合约后所持有的头寸叫多头头寸，简称多头；卖出期货合约后所持有的头寸叫空头头寸,简称空头。只是在期货交易中有这种做法，在现货交易中还没有这种做法。
头寸限制：指交易所对投资者规定的所能持有某一期货合约数量的最大限度，是从市场份额分配方面对市场风险进行管理。
