（三）通讯的表达方式
通讯以叙述和描写为主要表达方式。但又不局限于此，亦可灵活运用多种表达方式和方法。 通讯在表达方式的运用上有自己的个性，即：
叙述的具体性和直接性。通讯因较详细而深入地报道人物和事件，故而叙述的运用不宜如消息一般概括，事实的叙述宜具体、形象、生动。但又不宜过于铺张、不能沓散零乱、不必过于舞文弄墨、转弯抹角。
描写的直观性。通讯是新闻体裁，其描写不能靠虚拟、想象，不能靠花哨的修饰和夸大的形容，而应深入现场、亲眼目睹，描写事物或人物的本来面貌
