Failure Analysis of Nodular Iron Production

Abstract: The fracture failure causes of nodular iron production were analyzed. The microstructures and
fracture morphologies of the failure production were studied by optical microscopy, field emission scanning electron
microscopy and energy dispersion spectrum analyzer. The results show that the causes of the fracture are the
abnormal graphite nodulizing, and shrinkage, slag inclusion and normalizing cracks.
