发展定位：

发展思路：
以黔西北水利枢纽工程〔夹岩电站〕和毕节试验区大建设为契机，围绕工业强镇战略，大力实施“新型工业化、城乡一体化、经济区域化、生态文明化”建设，以招商引资、项目投入、城镇建设、民生改善、构建和谐为抓手，加快后发崛起，推动跨越发展，夯实基层组织基础，继续将“百千万”工程作大做强，建设和谐文明新城镇。产业调整促发展，村镇推进出特色，把田坝镇建成全市新农村建设示范镇、文明镇。
发展指标：
1、经济增长目标。通过招商引资引进5家以上企业，到2015年种植经果林8000亩以上，人均纯收入4500元以上，固定资产投资15亿元，力争到2012年底实现全镇人口脱贫，继续推进“退耕还林”稳固工程，森林覆盖率达45%以上；在8个行政村全面推进“五园新村”建设和“村村庄整治建设项目”，实现村村通油路和通组路、串户路水泥道路硬化。
2、社会发展目标。每年开展各种形式的普法教育，建设平安田坝，构建社会和谐，到2015年，全镇总人口控制在3万人以内，人口出生率控制在12
