On the basis of clearing researching purpose, significance and the status of performance evaluation methods at home and abroad, this paper expounds the idea, expounds the definition of small and medium-sized enterprises and the performance, the concept of performance appraisal, the commonly used methods of performance appraisal, and analyses the differences of the main methods, then analyses the performance evaluation methods of the small and medium-sized enterprises facing the problems and the impacting factors of choosing performance evaluation methods , then puts forward the optimization of the small and medium-sized enterprise performance evaluation methods of the specific measures, at last illustrates performance evaluation methods in the implementation of the problems that should notice.
