状语从句定义及分类
状语从句就是用不同的连接词将几个分句连接起来，以表达分句之间特定的逻辑关系。
时间状语全说完，就有人起来反驳他的论点。
He had hardly finished when someone rose to refute his points.
=Hardly had he finished when someone rose to refute his points.
时间短语引导的时间状语从句
next time, by the time, every time, each time, the day etc.
Next time you come, remember to bring along your sister.
In the classic children’s tale, the puppet Pinocchio’s nose
grows longer every time he tells a lie.
关注：
the time强调“一个动作在另一个动作之前以完成”，
因此后面从句主要用完成时态。
By the time they arrived, we had already left.
By the time they arrives, we will have already left.
2. the first time for the first time
地点状语从句
Stay where you are.
A driver should slow down where there are schools.
Wherever he happens to be, Mr. Zhang can make
himself at home.
Where there is self-doubting, we wish you a

through them.
原因状语从句
My friends dislike me because I am handsome and
successful.
Since we don’t have class tomorrow, why not go out for
a picnic?

will be closed.
It rained last night, for the ground is wet this morning.
The girl is like her mother in that she also has very
delicate feeling.
目的状语从句
so that, in order that
I spoke slowly and clearly so that the audience could
understand me.
We climbed high so that we might get a better view.
in order to/ so as to
lest, for fear that, in case..
Take an umbrella with you lest it should rain.
People evacuated the building for fear that the wall
should collapse.
结果状语从句
So…that… such…that..
Sensible Sam: I saw you pushing your bicycle to work
this afternoon.
Foolish Fred: Yes, I was so late that I didn’t have time
to get on it.
His anger was so explosive that he lost control of
himself.
