本人以信誉aveform diversity technique, MIMO radar possesses significant potentials superior to traditional phased array radar, including the breakthrough of half-wavelength limit, higher degree of freedom, resolution enhancement, etc. Through proper improvements traditional array signal processing techniques can be applied to MIMO radar. Moreover, this new type of radar system offers a new paradigm for radar signal processing. Though MIMO radar can improve the flexibility of signal processing techniques, the novel architecture and characters of MIMO radar also poses us new problems, including the cumulative detection among multiple channels, the strong demands for waveform and array structure optimization, and a noticeable performance decline of adaptive algorithms for the excessive degree of freedom, etc.
There are a lot of software related to radar imaging, such as GprMax, a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) simulation software based on FDTD (finite difference time domain). The generated files including geometric figure and data section are read by the MATLAB.
The operation of GprMax is simple, but the inversion (data processing) is more complex.
The most critical part of radar imaging is the imaging algorithm. Many algorithms are proposed through constant research and improvement of algorithm. Some algorithms can be combined with each other, so as to improve the imaging effect, of which the digital beamforming (DBF) technology and the back projection (BP) imaging algorithm are more representative. Based on different theoretical basis, the algorithm derives a lot of different algorithms, such as RD-BP algorithm, the TCC-BP algorithm, etc. For different algorithms ,we can get the simulation images with the help of MATLAB.
