many parts of the world have a day set aside just to give thanks. the date and the customs (风俗，习惯) may 渴望) to take time out to think of life’s blessings reminds the same. in the us, thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth thursday in november.
thanksgiving is a traditional festival that started in 1621, soon after the first pilgrims arrived in the us to start a new life. after a hard year, they had a big autumn harvest. they held a feast (宴席) and invited the native (土著的) american indians to thank god for giving them food. thanksgiving has been celebrated ever since in the us.
it’s a time to think the people and things you’re thankful for. you can make a list of things you have. there are big things, like your family who love you, as well as friends, health and your abilities (才能). move on to smaller things, like being top on an english test. while making the list, you will noticeyour life:
