Welcome to Chongqing. Sit back please and don’t worry about your luggage. It will be carried to the hotel in another bus.

First please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zhouwei, I am from China International Travel Service, Chongqing Branch. This is our driver Mr. Wang. He has been in this business for over 20 years. He is certain experienced and skillful. I’m sure he will keep your stay here safe and sound and comfortable.
On behalf of my travel service, Mr. Wang, my other colleagues and myself, I’d like to extend our heartfelt welcome to you all. Confucius, the great ancient Chinese sage, once said,〞 isn’t it happy to have friends come from afar?〞 So, it’s the great happiness of me to be your host here in Chongqing. During your stay in Chongqing, I will be your local tour guide and will try my best to work well. If you have any questions, problems and requests, please don’t hesitate to tell me, no matter what they are. Your advice, suggestions and criticism are highly appreciated. Situated in the east of the Sichuan Basin, commanding the upper reach of the Yangtze and Jialing River, Chongqing is the largest and youngest municipality directly under the Central Government. It has a population of million and covers an area of 82400 square kilometers, approximately as big as Austria. It has a jurisdiction over 17districts and 23 counties.
Chongqing is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China. About 3000 years ago, the city was the capital of Ba Kingdom and later the Ba Prefecture in Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC). It was named Yuzhou in Sui Dynasty (581AD-618AD), hence Yu for Chongqing for short up to now. It received its current name in 1189, after Prince Zhao Dun of the Southern Song Dynasty described his crowning as King and then Emperor as a “double happy celebration〞. He
