ROYE, Jr., MD President and Chief Executive Officer, International Healthcare Leadership Dr. Roye is one of the world ’ s leading pediatric orthopaedic surgeons, and has spent decades providing care to children around the world. He is Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Morgan Stanley Children ’ s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian, and St. Giles Professor of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Roye ’ s volunteer work has taken him to Africa, Eastern Europe and to China. For the past twelve years, Dr. Roye has served as Chief Medical Officer of the Children of China Pediatrics Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that sends pediatric medical teams from the United States to China to provide medical education and perform surgeries on orphans to correct disfiguring birth defects and disabilities. In 2009 the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons honored Dr. Roye with the Humanitarian of the Year Award. Dr. Roye has recently been awarded faculty privileges at the Beijing Children ’ s Hospital. Aware of the challenges facing healthcare reform in China, Dr. Roye founded International Healthcare Leadership (IHL). A non-profit organization, IHL designs and implements educational programs in health care management and policy for government officials and health care executives in China.
