Yoram Dinstein’s seminal textbook is an essential guide to the legal
issues of war and peace, armed attack, self-defence and enforcement

third edition incorporates new material on the Kosovo air campaign,
‘humanitarian intervention’, recent resolutions adopted by the Security

yoram dinstein is Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for
International Law, Heidelberg. Other posts he has held include Profes-
sor of International Law as well as President of Tel Aviv University, and
Stockton Professor of International Law at the US Naval War College.

law.
