Survive， outlive， outlast
这组动词都含“比别人或别的物存在的时间长”的意思。
survive比…活(或存在)的时间长，有时可与outlive通用，survive常用于直系亲属之间，如：
1. He is survived by his wife and children.
他妻子和孩子们活得都比他长。(这句是不是有点难理解?哈~~)
2. She survived her husband by ten years.
丈夫死后她又活了十年。
注：survive 通常指经受致命的危急后仍存活下来，如：

Outlive “比…活得长”，在预料性的比较中，或表示在某段时间后仍活着，用outlive比survive更合适:
