Abstract
: Data aggregation has been widely used in smart grids. Preserving data privacy is an
important issue in data aggregation applications. The existing schemes have some problems, such as
high computational overhead, unauthenticated entity object identity and over-dependence on a trus⁃
ted authority. This paper proposes a lightweight privacy-preserving data aggregation scheme. First⁃
ly, the scheme uses IDMAKE2 protocol based on bilinear pairing to authenticate the aggregator and
the smart meters. Secondly, additive homomorphic encryption is used to encrypt power data to pro⁃
tect user privacy. In addition, the scheme does not rely on a trusted authority and can resist collu⁃
sion attacks among internal entity objects. Security analysis shows that the scheme can meet the se⁃
curity requirements of smart grids. And the performance analysis experiments demonstrate that,
compared with other similar schemes, the proposed scheme incurs lower computational and commu⁃
nication overheads.
