它的婚姻形态主要表现在以下几个方面:
(一)早婚
早婚这种婚俗在满族社会很普遍。满洲旧俗尚早婚,娶长妇,一般在小儿时期即订亲结婚[1]。女真人“女十岁前,男家约婚。”[2]奉天满族人婚龄稍晚,“富有人家之男子生十三、四岁即结婚,至二十岁以上方结婚者,俱为穷人”[2]。而且在满族社会中又是多以年少之男娶年长之女,十三、四岁的男子,必须娶十七、八岁的女子。满族中所盛行的早婚及娶长妇的****俗,追本溯源是有其历史和文化因素的。结合当时的社会环境来考虑,我们可以发现:满族先民在形成民族的过程中,长期从事着军事活动。满族入关前人口最多不过六十万人,长期的军事征服使大批的青壮年战死疆场,随着战争的继续和对广大被征服地区实行民族统治,客观上就增加了对满族人丁的需求,八旗制度的实施使兵民合一,“凡隶于旗者,皆可以为兵”[3]。男子16岁成丁,即要入伍从征。即便有“三丁抽一”的制度和规定,但每临战事,凡在旗男丁都要从军,甚至有祖孙三代同时服役的现象。这对满族家庭的人口结构和人口繁衍都产生了严重的影响,致使许多家庭无以继后而绝户,更谈不上强大家族以祭祖了。而要解决这一问题,最好的办法就是实行早婚并娶长妇,以保证人丁在入伍前就实现人口的繁殖,既有丁入伍,又有幼丁延续家庭香火,确保家族和旗的发展壮大,后继有人。
