1. Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma yo, two, three, I closed my eyes, stretched my arms and lay down backwards. My mind suddenly went blank. I could hear nothing but the wind whipping around my face. The next moment, I heard the cheers of my teammates and I knew I was safe.
How does it feel to trust someone? This was the question raised by the coach before the class started. Being an only child and growing up in such a complicated world, it was really difficult for me to truly trust someone other than my parents. I still remembered my coach’ s words; “Every time you decide to trust someone, you take a risk. Those who are brave enough to take the risk might get hurt but they will also feel the joy that others can’ t.”
After the adventure I just went through, I came to understand those words. When I opened my eyes and found myself lying safely in the arms of my teammates, I did not only feel relieved but also grateful for them to be there for me. At that moment, I felt we were truly like a team, like brothers and sisters.
That class taught me the significance of the mutual trust between human beings. Now every time I choose to trust someone, I might be taking a risk. But lf d like to take that risk because it is the right thing to do and it’ s worth attempting.
