前的技术条件下微机保护中使用的采样频率有600Hz、1000Hz、1200Hz三种。在南瑞继保电器公司原先生产的LFP900保护中使用的采样频率是600Hz和1000Hz。目前生产的RCS900保护中使用的采样频率是1200Hz。
⑶ 采样周期。相邻的两个采样点之间的时间称做采样同期。显然采样同期与采样频率互为倒数。。当采样频率为600Hz、1000Hz、1200Hz时相应的采样周期分别为、、。
⑷ 每周波采样次数N。采样频率相对于工频频率（50Hz）的倍数表示了每周波的采样次数N。采样频率为600Hz、1000Hz、1200Hz时相应的N值为12、20、24。
⑸ 采样定理。采样频率必须大于输入信号中的最高次频率的两倍，，这就是著名的采样定理。不满足采样定理将产生频率混叠现象。
由逐次逼近式原理的模数转换器（A/D）构成的数据采集系统。
这是目前应用最为广泛的一种数据采集系统，南瑞继保电气公司的RCS900保护中都用这种数据采集系统。图1-2画出了该数据采集系统的原理框图。各种保护根据需要有若干个模拟信号需要采样，例如南瑞继保电气公司的线路保护采样八个量：、、、、、、以及线路电压。而电压不从TV的开口三角处采样，而用三个相电压相加的自产方法获得。各个模拟量有各个独立的采样通道，通过多路转换开关若干个模拟量用一个A/D转换成数字量。
下面对图1-2所示的原理框图中的各个环节加以说明。
（1）交流变换器。它的作用有两个：① 将从TV、TA来的高电压、大电流变换成保护装置内部电子电路所需要和允许的小的电压信号。② 电气隔离和屏蔽作用。从TV、TA来的电气量经过很长电缆接到保护装置，也引入了大量的共模干扰。交流变换器一方面提供一个电气隔离，另一方面在一、二次线圈中加了一个接地的屏蔽层，使共模干扰经一次线圈和屏蔽层之间的分布电容而接地，可以有效地抑制共模干扰。
