Explanation of welding NOUN
General Terms
welding
A method of combining workpieclosest part of the two part of the joint.
The space between the roots of the joint before welding.
root radius
Rounded radius at the bottom of the J - and U - shaped groove.
obtuse edges
When the weldment is opened, the straight edge part of the end of the root of the groove of the weldment.
joint
By two or more than two parts by welding has welding or a combination of contact. The performance of the joint shall be considered in terms of the weld, fusion zone, heat affected zone, and even the parent material.
joint design
According to the working conditions of the joints, groove type and size and weld size.
butt joint
A joint whose surface is greater than or equal to 135 degrees, less than or equal to the angle of 180 degrees (two degrees).
The two end parts form a joint larger than 30 degrees or less than 135 degrees.
T shape joint
A joint whose right end is at right angles or approximately right angles to another surface.
lap joint
A joint consisting of two overlapping parts.
cross joint
The three pieces are joined in a cross shaped joint.
terminal joint
An end joint consisting of two overlapping or less than 30 degrees angles between two surfaces.
roll side joint
A joint in which the end of the weldment is pre rolled and only partially melted after welding.
socket joint
A short tube with a slightly larger diameter is sheathed at the end of the two pipes which need to be connected.
oblique butt joint
A butt joint with an oblique arrangement on the weldment surface.
locking bottom joint
A joint consisting of the end of one piece placed on the other side of the reserved bottom.
base metal
A general term for welded metal materials.
heat affected zone
The area where the microstructure and mechanical properties change during the course of welding or cutting due to the influence of heat (but not melting).
overheating zo
