3、公选干部的群体特点分析
从我们掌握的情况来看，公开选拔的干部除了年轻化，知识化的特点外，还具有以下几个方面的特点：
（1）基本素质高。公选的“准入”条件，对参加公选的人员的文化层次、知识结构、思想品德等综合素质要求较高。公选干部能够在众多的竞争者当中脱颖而出，说明他们确实具备了一定的任职资格所需的业务知识、实际能力和应变能力。
（2）发展潜力大。公开选拔的干部基础好，起点高，可塑性强，只要加强实践锻炼和培养，有更大的发展空间，能够走上更高的领导岗位。
（3）创新思维活。绝大部分公选干部能较快进入角色，适应新的岗位。工作上，接受新事物较快，创新意识较强,创新精神较好。
（4）实践经验缺。公开选拔的干部，大多数参加工作的时间不长，有一些是刚走出校们门参加工作不久，缺乏环境的锻炼和处理问题的能力，明显经验不足，有一个适应岗位、转换角色的适应过程。
3、公选干部的履职情况分析
（1）优秀的原因
公选干部较好地履行了岗位职责，工作成绩比较突出，受到群众和领导的好评。究其原因，一是组织的培养。我们对公选干部建立跟踪管理机制，切实加强培养和监督。单位领导在业务上多指导、多帮助，促使他们尽快熟悉情况，工作中充分信任，放手给他们压担子、交任务，经受实践检验，提高领导能力和水平，提高决策的科学性和预见性，减少工作失误，在实践中逐步走向成熟。在一年的试用期内，组织部门每半年对他们考核一次，谈话一次，发现问题及时指出，努力做到既选拔又培养。
