Construction Description
Form of construction
Either for squirrel-cage or wound type motor a variety of constructions may be offered such as self-ventilated type, air-to-air or water-to-air cooler type, pipe-ventilated type and external fan- ventilated forced air-cooled type. The typical structures of motors are shown on fig. 1, fig. 2, fig. 3, fig. 4, fig. 5, fig. 6.
Fig. 7, fig. 8, fig. 9 show the typical assembly samples of the motor with sliding bearing and external fan-ventilated air-cooled type motor.
Regardless of which construction type of motors, all consists of the main components of stator, rotor, frame, endshields, bearings and terminal box, etc.
Self-ventilated type motors are furnished with a hood in degree of protection IP23 at
the frame top. According to the customers’ requirements, the top hood could be in degree of protection of IPW23 and IPW24.
For the type of air-air cooling motor, on the top of whose frame a air-air cooler is mounted, and at the non-shaft extension or the shaft extension end an external fan and a fan housing are mounted, or the air-aircooler is with a cooling fan itself. For the outdoor motor at the cooler’s air outlet a fan housing is mounted.
At the top of the frame of the water-air cooling type motor, a water-air cooler is mounted, or water cooler is with a cooling fan itself.
For the pipe-ventilated cooling type motor, at the top of the frame, the air inlet and the air outlet pipe are mounted, or only the top protection cover for either of them is mounted.
