三、艾滋病的常用药物
艾滋病进展是CD4＋T淋巴细胞减少的过程，在CD4＋T淋巴细胞处在相对高的水平时（>350个/微升）一般不需要治疗。何时开始治疗呢，中国和欧美标准不一样，美国一般在CD4＋T淋巴细胞<350个/微升时就开始治疗，我国一般在CD4＋T淋巴细胞<200个/微升时开始治疗；两种方法是有争议的，过早治疗效果可能会好些，但是会过早产生耐药性。所以综合考虑CD4＋T淋巴细胞<200个/微升时开始治疗还是适合我国的国情的。
在恰当的时间开始抗病毒治疗可以极大地延长患者的生命，在治疗的过程中患者需要定时检测CD4+T淋巴细胞的数量以便让医生判断病情进展程度、身体是否已耐药。若CD4+T淋巴细胞在有药物治疗的同时数量仍然下降，则患者很可能已经产生耐药性，就需要更换治疗方案。因此CD4+T淋巴细胞的数量是衡量是否感染艾滋病以及艾滋病的病程的重要指标。
在我国目前已有针对艾滋病人免费治疗的政策，相比欧美等发达国家，我国的药物治疗水平还在初级阶段。目前采用的有两个治疗方案，如下所示。

一线治疗方案 TDF或AZT+3TC+EFV或NVP
二线治疗方案为AZT或TDF+3TC+LPV/r
以上2种方案都是同时服用3种药物，也就是所谓的鸡尾酒疗法。
在此方案之外的药物都是自费药物。
TDF:中文简称替诺福韦，商品名韦瑞德
AZT:中文简称齐多夫定，国内大多使用国产仿制品
3TC:中文简称拉米夫定，商品名贺普丁
EFV:中文简
