Prince William, second in line to theBritish throne, is to appear on a special setof stamps to mark his 21st birthday, the RoyalMail said on May 11, 2003.
Four portraits of William, eldest son ofPrince Charles and the late Princess Diana,will be released four days before his birth-day on June 21.
The Royal Mail has printed 20 million ofthe stamps and expects to attract interestfrom around the world.
"All the royal stamps sell very well,there is quite a big market for them." TheRoyal Mail spokesperson said. Three of thephotographs used for the stamps were taken inSeptember 2001 on the day William began acourse in art history at St. Andrews Univer-sity in Scotland, where he is still a stu-dent. The fourth one was taken at High grove,Prince Charles' country home in western En-gland, when William was 18.
The Queen approved the stamps, which haveface values of between 28 pence and 68 first appeared on a British stamp in2000 to mark the 100th birthday of the QueenMother. The Royal Mint is issuing a fivepoun
