调查表明，接近100%的大学生不了解、迫切希望知道用人单位招聘、录用、使用人才的素质与能力基本标准。另一方面，很多企业向就业者提出了更高的要求，大学生素质能力现状与用人单位要求相去甚远，用人单位普遍认为大学生素质能力不足。社会对大学生“眼高手低”、“纸上谈兵”、“好高鹜远”、“高分低能”等负面因素的评价，说明大学生的基本素质和工作能力与社会、与用人单位的要求还有较大差距。因此，提升大学生自身职业素质和就业能力，是使其更好面对社会及市场需求的良策，也是其成功获得良好就业机会的法宝。
企业已不再单纯用高学历、高分数的标准来衡量大学毕业生了，而是用是否具有优良的人品、团队意识、吃苦耐劳、敬业爱岗的献身精神等来评价大学生毕业生。
