Jane Austen was born in
Steventon, England, in 1775,
where she lived for the first twenty-five years of her life. Her father, e Austen, was the rector of the local parish. Jane Austen was mostly tutored at home, and irregularly at school, but she received a broader education than many women of her time. She started to write for family amusement as a child.

Pride and prejudice tells about marriages
between four pairs of young people. The
most important one is the love story between
Elizabeth and William Darcy.
   At first, Elizabeth detested Darcy because someone threw stones on him, but along with more contact with him, she began to respect him, even adoration.  And, Darcy first was not popular with many people because of his pride.
