dardthatdemandsmoreadvancedcomputationalmethodssuchasmodelorderreduction
,importantquestionsariseintheanalysisofcontactconditionsbetween
deformablebodiesandinthedevelopmentofstructuraloptimizationalgorithmsforflexible
multibodysystems.
Inspring2020,inthecontextoftheCOVID-19pandemic,weproposedestablishingthe
format,-
enceshadbeencancelledorpostponed,ourparticipantsenjoyedmeetingforafull-dayweb
socializingduringrealcoffeebreaksorparticipatinginaneveningsocialeventwasnotpos-
sible,thesymposiumsucceededinreconnectingactivescholarsinthefieldandpromoting
stimulatingcommunityinteractions.
Afterthemeeting,themostoutstandingpresenterswereinvitedtosubmitfullpapersto
papershavebeenacceptedforpublicationinthisissuethatreflectrecentdevelopmentsand
