General introduction
Christina ina Rossetti is the finest woman poet in the history of English literature. She wrote a variety of romantic, devotional, and children's poems. She is best known for her long poem Goblin Market, her love poem "Remember”. She was also associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood headed by her brother D. G. Rossetti , and shared the Pre-Raphaelite taste for the beautiful but sad and various imagery. Her writing exerted a great influence on 20th-century women poets .

Her life story
Christina Rosetti was born in London in 1830. Their father, Gabriele Rossetti, was an Italian poet; their mother, Frances Polidori , was the sister of Lord Byron's friend and physician, John William Polidori. She was the youngest of four children who all ended up ing writers. However, in the 1840’s, the family’s economic situation worsened and her own health deteriorated. At this point , she , her mother and sister became intensely involved with the Anglo-Catholic movement. For the rest of her life , Christina governed herself by strict religious principles and refused twice her suitors for marriage. Then she lived a quiet life ,
