Process Mapping
Process Map is a visual representation the process as it is now, with all its flaws and inefficiencies
It is a working document - a means for getting to other, valuable improvement activities
The real value is in the creation

Process Scope
The Black Belt must determine the scope of the process as it relates to the project.
Large, cross-functional processes that involve many people are called macro processes. Projects may be assigned with this view in mind. Executives tend to view anization in this manner
Smaller, local processes are called micro processes. This is the view of line employees and first line management.
The scope of the process must be defined at an actionable level
