in 3% NaCl Solution

Abstract: Linear polarization curves and cyclic voltammetry were used to study the corrosion
behavior of two Al-alloys in 3% NaCl solutions. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed
in investigating microstructure of the two Al-alloys. The results show that the corrosion rate of
the alloy ZL102(A) is much smaller than the alloy LF6(B) on the whole, as well as the sensitivity
to pitting corrosion and the growth tendency of corrosion pits. The pitting corrosion resistance is
different between the alloy A and B because of the existence of impurities.
