What’s the running theme of the film?
Dead poet’s society is a campus drama. The story happens in Welton preparation college in 1959, talks about an exclusive school, a group of rich students, a great teacher and the Dead poets society. "Traditional, honor, discipline, excellence" is the principle of the school,it is famous for its style of dense and high graduation rates at that time ,but the traditional and monotonous teaching model has a serious conflict with the new teaching way by Mr. Keating. The things between the students influenced by traditional education and the teacher who is against traditional education make us have questions about the traditional education at home or school. Mr Keating ,who is determined to teach his students to live with absolute passion,using poetry as his vehicle teaches his students to challenge the institutions around the his way of education is not widely accepted ,but as he says,seize
the day ,and make our lives extraordinary ,it is much more important in nowdays.
Do you like Keating’s educational ideas and his special ways of teaching and why?
The plot is about a number of students who are taught by Williams about life. They are taught how to enjoy themselves. This ends up causing great controversy among the heads of the school. This education is not simply to impart knowledge, but to tell the students to acknowledge themselves, understanding the world. Students are not been taught any knowledge, which can be stimulated out . Some people are born to talent that can be gradually Been excavated in the education process, but process seems long and uncertain . When this teacher -Keating -appears, the students had been luckily singled out, with a passionate and memorable teenager terms, despite the end of the story with some regrets.
