1. In Sarah’s opinion, what is Hannah like?
In Sarah’s opinion, Hannah is
hard-working,academic, but she is
dishonest and unreliable.
2. Is Matthew usually a quiet boy?
No, he is cheeful and
he is a bit jealous of Andrew.
3. What do you think are the most important personalities(个性) in a friend?
Hard-working, determined, brilliant,
cheerful, outgoing, polite, kind, helpful,
reliable, honest, friendly, easygoing…
Adjectives (形容词)like ‘ hard-working,
academic,dishonest,unreliable,cheerful,
jealous…’ can be used to describe people’s personality.
Step2. Let’s look at the other examples of how adjectives are used to describe people’s personality.
A: At first, when I saw my best friend start
to spend time with new friends, I was
jealous. But now I am more open-minded
because I have new friends to spend time
with too.
B: Yes, I noticed that sometimes you were
moody at the beginning of last term.
However, I’m pleased to see that you are
much more cheerful these days.
Adjectives to

Positve(褒义词) adjectives
Negative(贬义词) adjectives
A: At first, when I saw my best friend start
to spend time with new friends, I was
jealous. But now I am more open-minded
because I have new friends to spend time
with too.
B: Yes, I noticed that sometimes you were
