REQUIREMENT
1. SCOPE: This standard includes ASQ 9001:1994 quality system
requirements and specifies additional requirements for the quality system of
the aerospace industry.
For those not involved in design activities (Ref. ASQ 9002), is not
applicable.
It is emphasized that the quality system requirements specified in this
standard plementary (not alternative) to the contractual and
applicable law and regulatory requirements.
SUMMARY
* ISO 9001, 1994 is the basic requirement.
* Additional requirements have been added specific to the aerospace industry.
* If anization is not design-responsible, element is not applicable.
* The requirements of AS9100 plementary to customer specific
requirements.
SPECIFICS
* All applicable elements of AS9100 must be included in all certification activities.
AUDIT GUIDANCE
* No special guidance is required for qualified auditors.
* All applicable elements must be subjected to assessment both for initial
assessments and on-going surveillance actions.
* All exclusions should be justified by anization being certified.
