They can be divided into general inquiries and specific inquiries. General inquires usually include general information, and cannot result in immediate business. Specific enquiries usually can result in immediate business if the offer is acceptable
Offer
It is a declaration that he or it is willing to sell or buy a certain amount of specified goods, at specified price under specified terms. Offers are a formal presentation of the goods to be supplied on the terms specified therein for the buyer's acceptance. It includes firm offer and non-firm offer.
Counter Offer
Sometimes the exporter or the importer may ask for some alterations to the terms and conditions offered by the other, which is what we call a counter-offer. It is virtually a partial rejection of the original offer and also a counter proposal initiated by the buyer or the offeree.
