Sociological imagination (definition, importance & application)
Definition: An awareness of the relationship between an individual and the wider society, both today and in the past.
Importance&application: 1. A key element in the sociological imagination is the ability to view one's own society as an outsider world, rather than from the perspective of personal experiences and cultural biases.
It allows us to go beyond personal experiences and observations to understand broader public issues.
It allows us to look beyond a limited uedorstanding of human behavior to see the world and its people in a new way and through a broader lens than we might otherwise use.

Including: sociology, anthropology, economics, history, psychology and political science Similarities: having a common focus on the social behavior of people Differences: Each has a particular orientation
