Abstract: In this study, characterization of chloroplast genome of Syringa reticulata subsp. amurensis were analyzed and
the phylogenetic genomic analysis was conducted. The results showed that: (1) A total of 132 functional genes were annotated,
inclu-ding 8 rRNA genes, 36 tRNA genes and 88 protein-coding genes. (2) In the chloroplast genome of S. reticulata subsp. amu-
rensis 30 codons with RSCU value>1 were found, and 27 condons with A/U base ending; 32 condons with RSCU value<1, and
29 condons ending in G/C. Codons of the chloroplast genome of S. reticulata subsp. amurensis was more incline-d to end in G/C
base. (3) A total of 106 scattered repeats, including 61 forward repeats and 45 palindromic repeats were detected in the chloro-
plast genome of S. reticulata subsp. amurensis; 218 SSR loci were detected, and PCR primers were successfully designed for
211 of them. (4) The phylogenetic tree showed that the relationship between subsp. amurensis and Syringa reticula-
ta subsp. pekinensis was the closest. This study provides a theoretical basis for phylogenetic and germplasm identification, and
