Luoyang is one of the excellent tourist cities in china. She is now striving for the title of the best tourist of our country. Luoyang is a city, not only abundant in man-made scenery but also rich in natural landscape. Since you have enjoyed almost all the artificial scenery in the city, I’d like to show you one of the famous natural landscapes in the region –the Baiyun Mountain Forest Park. I am sure you’ll love it.
Well, the Baiyun Mountain Forest Park is seated in the South of Songxian County under Luoyang, about 180 km south to the city. Before we get there, I’d like to give some general ideas about it.
OK, the Baiyun Mountain, or White Cloud Mountain in English, stared to be open to the outside as a tourist zone in late 1980s. As in summer white cloud is often seen over the mountain peaks, hence it was named. It was approved a state-grade forest park by the Ministry of Forestry in 1992.
