Virtual manufacturing technology and its application in the food
machinery's design and manufacture

Abstract: The virtual manufacturing (VM) is simulating and forecasting the problem of function, performance,
and machinability for the products by using simulating and virtual technology and high puter
and high work to realize the manufacture. In this paper, the meanings, the classification, the key
technology and the characteristic of VM, the relationship between virtual manufacturing and real manufacturing,
and the application prospect of VM in the industry of food machinery are presented. In the end, the paper puts
forward that we should promote our research work on virtual manufacturing's application, which is very
important to push the further development of research and applications of virtual manufacturing technology
(VMT) in food machinery's design and manufacture.
