Experimental Investigation Into Starting Noise and Vibration
of an Engine Used in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

【Abstract】Noise and vibration test in cold start condition was carried out for engine of a hybrid electric vehicle,
during this test engine block vibration acceleration,engine noise,cylinder pressure,ignition pulse signal and revolution
signal were measured,and engine starting noise and vibration characteristics were analyzed in the transient state of engine
test results indicate that the engine starting noise and vibration signal reveal distinct non -steady
characteristic,and the amplitude is greater than at idle speed;in addition,the high -frequency vibration and noise is not
closely related with fluctuation of cylinder pressure at low frequency,possibly correlated with fluctuation of high-frequency
torque that drives the motor.
