中国古代包装有着悠久的历史文化渊源,具有独特的民族风格和审美意识,其形态、材料及艺术风格也因各个历史时期的不同而各具特色。元代包装设计艺术作为中国古代包装艺术发展史中的一部分, 深具其时代特色。虽然元代国祚不及百年,但在中国历史上是一个独特而又重要的朝代,其政治、经济、军事、文化,虽然多沿袭了前代, 但比起前代更富有传奇色彩和独特风采;其地域广袤,民族众多,为多民族文化的交流提供了前所未有的机会,中外交流空前高涨,中国文化发展到一个全新的高度和境域。在这个多元文化融汇的时代里, 其包装设计艺术的发展呈现出种类增多、用材更广的同时,更多地体现出独特的风格特征。究其原因,乃是因为元代作为少数民族建立的政权,在民族个性的张扬、中外文化的交流方面亘古未有。
就元代包装的种类而言,传统的陶瓷、漆器和金银器包装无论从造型、装饰艺术方面,还是从工艺方面,都较前代有了新的发展。具有异域民族特征的造型与装饰,在经历了与中原汉族风格的融合之后, 衍生出了极具时代性的特征;在工艺方面,使其它中原的一些技术被移植,与中原王朝原有工艺取长补短,更具合理性,更能满足功能的需要。与此同时,蒙古族固有的皮囊包装在这一时期大放异彩。
元代包装之所以在中国古代包装艺术史上独具特色,取决于当时的政治环境、民族构成和民族政策。元代空前的版图、长时期的开疆

辟土、外来民族的影响和各民族地位的提高,使蒙古文化、汉文化和
伊斯兰文化,都对包装艺术产生了重要影响。这种影响导致包装风格呈现出在继承传统的基础上,民族风格的突出。
从元代包装艺术中不难发现,造物艺术的发展受制于政治、民族、经济、文化和生活方式等诸多因素的影响。透过包装,折射出一个时代的特征。

ABSTRACT
The historical and cultural origin of Chinese ancient packaging is long,with unique national style and aesthetic consciousness. The shape, material and artistic style of ancient packaging is also distinctive as the different historical periods. As one part of Chinese ancient packaging art, the package-designing of Yuan Dynasty has the era characteristic. Although Yuan Dynasty states less than one century,it is an unique and
important dynasty in Chinese history. Its politics,economy,military and
culture mostly follow the previous generation , but they have the legendary and unique style more than the previous generation. With many ethnic groups , its vast territory provides an unprecedented opportunity for the multi-ethnic culture exchange. The exchange between
China and the rest of the world is unprecedented. And the development of Chinese culture is to a new height and condition. In the era with
multi-culture joined,the development of its package-design art shows to
increase in species and broaden in materials. Meanwhile,the unique style is more to reflect. The reason is that Yuan Dynasty established as a
minority regime makes its national individuality widely known and China and the world cultural exchange
