My favorite sport is soccer! I love kicking the ball and
running around playing with my friends. Soccer is so much fun!
When I grow up, I want to be a famous soccer player! My
dream is to play for a big team and score lots of goals. I practice
every day after school by dribbling the ball around my backyard
and taking shots on my little goal. I'm getting better and better.
On the weekends, my family takes me to my soccer games.
I'm on the Red Rockets team and we're the best in our league!
Our jerseys are bright red and have a cool rocket ship logo. I
wear number 7 because that's my lucky number. Sometimes if
we win a game, my dad takes the whole team for ice cream
sundaes!
Before each game, my coach has us do warmup exercises
like jumping jacks and running laps around the field. Then we
stretch out our legs so we don't get any injuries during the game.
Coach says it's important to stay loose and limber. Once we're
warmed up, we practice passing drills and taking shots on goal. : .

I'm a pretty good shooter but I need to work on my passing
accuracy.
Finally, it's game time! I get so excited and nervous at the
same time. As we walk out onto the field, I look up and see the
bright green grass and the two big goals at each end. I take
some deep breaths to calm my nerves. The referee blows his
whistle to start the game and we're off!
I love dribbling the ball up the field, faking out the other
players with my fancy footwork. Sometimes I get past them and
have a clear shot at the goal. I wind up and kick that ball as hard
as I can, trying to blast it past the goalie. There's no better feeling
than seeing the ball hit the back of the net - GOAL! My
teammates come running over giving me high-fives and
cheering.
Other times, the other team gets the ball and we have to try
and get it back. I have to hustle and put pressure on them,
sticking my foot in to poke the ball away whenever I can.
Sometimes there are really tough battles in the middle of the
field with everyone swarming around, kicking at the ball. You
have to be brave and not afraid of getting knocked down.

hard to hear him over all the shouting from the parents cheering
us on. I just try to stay focused and make smart plays.
The games are only 60 minutes long, but they feel like
forever when you're running around nonstop. By the end, I'm
completely exhausted and drenched in sweat. My legs are
wobbly and my heart is pounding out of my chest. But I never
want the game to end!
When the final whistle blows, we all go shake hands with the
pile together and cheer. If we lost, I might pout for a little while,
but my mom reminds me that we can't win them all. The
important thing is that I tried my best and had fun.
After the game, we all gather around Coach for his little pep
talk. He tells us what we did well and what we need to work on
for next time. Sometimes he'll single me out if I scored a goal or
made a good play. That makes me feel so proud!
Then it's back home for a shower and a nap - I'm always
tuckered out after a soccer game! But I can't wait for next
weekend to do it all over again. Soccer is the best sport ever and
I want to play forever and ever. Maybe one day I'll take my skills

My Favorite Sport is Soccer!
Soccer is my number one favorite sport! I love playing soccer
with my friends at school and in my neighborhood. It's so much
fun kicking the ball and running around the field.
Soccer is a really cool game. Two teams try to get the ball
into the other team's net by kicking it. You can only use your feet,
head, and body to move the ball - no hands allowed except for
the goalie. Having good footwork and ball control is super
important.
There are 11 players on each team out on the field at once.
The goalie guards the net and the other 10 players are trying to
score goals. Everyone has a position like defender, midfielder, or
striker. The defenders stay back to protect the goal, the
midfielders play in the middle of the field, and the strikers try to
score by shooting on the other team's net.
My favorite position is striker because I love trying to score

the net is really exciting. Scoring a goal feels amazing - I go
totally crazy celebrating! But playing any position is fun for me.
Soccer requires a lot of running up and down the field
chasing the ball. It's a great workout and keeps me in really good
shape. Being a fast runner definitely helps in soccer. You also
need skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and heading the ball
with your head. The more you practice, the better you get.
Every game is different based on which team is better and
who scores first. Sometimes games are low-scoring and other
times there are a bunch of goals. I've played in games we won in
a blowout and games that came down to a shootout to decide
the winner after being tied. Close, competitive games that come
down to the very last minute are the best!
Win or lose, I always have a blast playing soccer. There's
nothing better than being out on the field, getting some exercise,
and playing the sport I love so much with my friends and
teammates. Soccer brings me a ton of joy and excitement. It will
always be my favorite game!
