Diagnostic tests needs to be both valid and reliable.
VALID: means that the test measures what it is intended to measure, ., white spot lesion with a matt surface indicates an active lesion which has not yet cavitated.
RELIABLE: or reproducibility means the test can be repeated with the same result (intra-examiner reproducibility and inter-examiner reproducibility)
