Abstract
Qin Shi Huang is an outstanding statesman and strategist in the history of China. He inherited the throne at the age of thirteen and when he was thirty- nine he reunified China, established Qin dynasty, and was the first emperor in China. He established the first united, multi-ethnic and absolutistic and centralized country of China. After Qin Shi Huang unified china,he took a series of important measures to strengthen the rule of empire including unified metric unit, wordage, currency law and so on。In order to resist Xiongnu, Qin Shi Huang hosted to build the Great Wall which became world-famous today. Based on the original reign he continuously developed territory, and made China the world largest empire at that time. However, in order to control the people and strengthen the emperor autocratic rule, Qin Shi Huang took many brutal ways. One of the most famous is the "Fen Shu Keng Ru"(Chinese pronunciation) which is to destroy many classic books and bury confucian scholars alive. However, when he died he was only fifty. In Chinese history, Qin Shi Huang is the first emperor who has rare gifts and bold strategy, only a few people can pared with him in Chinese emperors about his great achievements. Although he brought people heavy disaster in later life, his achievement for china is far more than his error.
