Abstract
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is Natural Gas (NG) which has been converted into liquid for storage and
transport purposes. Being an alternative energy source, NG is widely used from power generation to
domestic gas stove applications among others. This makes NG an essential energy source for any country.
Interruption of NG to these users will have significant negative economic and social impact. Therefore
facility owners in a LNG supply chain are required to achieve and sustain high system deliverability.
Interruptions in the NG supply chain are mainly due to an unplanned or planned maintenance activity on an
equipment. The frequency and duration of such equipment outage can be mitigated or minimized through a
series of reliability based initiatives (Reliability Engineering). The level of reliability efforts to be taken
into consideration by the reliability program will be tailored by the level of technical risks involved.
This paper introduces an overall LNG supply chain applicable scope of work from raw gas extraction to
regasification and a multi-tier reliability program approach that can be applied on different parts of t
